...A
founding member of The Greek Tycoons, George
is self taught and received his first bouzouki
at the age of 16. He has fine tuned his
skills by listening and learning from some
of the
worlds greatest bouzouki players such as
Tsitsanis and Nikolopoulos. He serves as
the bands technical and sound engineer
and Georges’ love of technology has culminated
in the band’s latest release, ‘Greek
Tycoons Live’, being produced and mixed
in George’s own studio. He resides
in Bellbrook Ohio with his wife Joanne
and children Elea, Tia and Taki.

...Themi
was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was
raised in the greek section of a small steel
town in Pennsylvania. He was born into a very
musical family spaning over 70 years, with
his father being the head of the Kakias family
band, and his mother a very talented singer.
Themi has played backup to many talented and
famous musicians, singers, dancers, recording
artists and movie stars. One of Themi’s
most recent single performances was to honor
Lainie Kazan from the famous movie “My
Big Fat Greek Wedding.”

joined The Greek Tycoons in early 2002, and
has been an incredible asset to the band, bringing
with him tremedous talent and knowledge of
Greek music.

resides in Eldorado, Ohio with his wife Linda,
and his beloved animals.

...Both
of John’s parents were Greek; his father
was from Kalamata, Greece and his mother
was a first-generation Greek American whose
parents were from Constantinople. John started
playing Clarinet around the age of 14, which
by most standards is very late. As a young
man, he practiced very hard to catch up to
his peers. He attended the University of
Dayton for three years, when he then left
to join the Navy music program. He graduated
with the highest honors from the Navy School
of Music in 1963, and was named “outstanding” student
in that program on three different ocassions.
John was a member of the prestigious Navy
Flag Corp. and was honored to participate
in the funeral of John F. Kennedy, and was
stationed at the front entrance of the White
House where he saw many of the world leaders
of the early 1960’s.

has resides in Dayton, Ohio with his wife
Margie and has two sons, Michael of Indianiapolis,
Indiana and Steve of Denver, Colorado.

...The
newest member of The Greek Tycoons, Chris Michaelides
is a graduate
of the prestigious CCM
conservatory in Cincinnati. He has performed
many different styles of music with numerous
groups
all over Ohio and in Chicago, where he currently
resides. Chris grew up dancing for his home church’s
Greek festivals, and now he is excited to be
performing the native folk music of his people
with the Greek
Tycoons. Opa!!!
